Your first useful AI skill
Turn ChatGPT into
your personal IT guy.
The printer won’t print. The sound is gone. A scary pop-up says to call a number. Learn the exact words that get ChatGPT to walk you through it one small step at a time, like a patient tech on the phone. Even if you’ve never used ChatGPT.
8 short lessons · Practice pictures · Printable cheat sheet · 30-day money-back guarantee
Works with the free ChatGPT app on Windows, Mac, or your phone. One optional lesson uses a paid ChatGPT feature.

Sound familiar?
Something stops working. And you’ve got four bad choices.
- Search online. You get 12 steps written for somebody who already knows what a “print spooler” is.
- Wait for your kid, your nephew or a neighbor to have time. Again.
- Pay someone to come over and click two buttons.
- Or, worst of all, call the number on the pop-up. That’s exactly what scammers are counting on.
None of those is great. There’s a fifth choice now, and most people don’t know it’s sitting right there.
The part nobody tells you
ChatGPT can already help. Most people just ask it the wrong way.
ChatGPT is surprisingly good at everyday computer problems. It’s patient. It’s awake at 2 a.m. It never sighs or makes you feel dumb for asking.
But type a quick question into it and you get the same thing a search gives you: a long list of steps, full of words you don’t know. Plenty of people try it once, feel lost, and decide AI “isn’t for them.”
It’s not you. It’s the question.
I’ve spent 30 years in IT. The good IT people don’t dump twelve steps on you. They ask what you were doing, have you try one thing, and wait. You can get ChatGPT to work exactly like that. You just need to know what to say. That’s what I’ll teach you.
See the difference
One sentence changes how it helps you.
Lesson 4 teaches three things to say, plus one “magic sentence.” Here’s what happened when we typed the lesson’s practice question into ChatGPT:
YouI’m on a Windows laptop. I was trying to watch a video on YouTube, but there’s no sound. The volume is turned up. I’m not technical. Walk me through it one step at a time, and wait for me to say “done” before you give me the next step.
ChatGPTAbsolutely. We’ll do one simple step at a time, and I’ll wait for you after each one.
Step 1
Look at the bottom-left corner of the YouTube video. You should see a small speaker icon. Click that speaker icon once. If it had a little X next to it, clicking it should unmute the video.
Try that, then tell me “done.”
Actual ChatGPT reply, October 2026, shortened only to remove an emoji. Your wording and replies will vary.
No wall of steps. No jargon. One thing to do, and it waits. That one habit is the heart of the course. Then you learn to show it your screen, work through a fix together, stay safe, and spot a scam.
What changes
Before and after the course.
Everything you get for $27
Eight short lessons. One useful skill for life.
Each lesson is short and step by step: what to do, the exact words to say, and a “You’re done when…” check, so you always know it worked. Do them on your own computer, at your own pace.

Three easy ways to show ChatGPT your screen, even when the computer is frozen.
Let it walk you through the fix
The back-and-forth that solves problems, and three questions that keep you safe.

Your IT guy playbook
Scam pop-ups, printers, sound, Wi-Fi, email, slow computers, lost files, and when to call a human.

Plus
- The printable cheat sheet. The three things, the magic sentence, how to show your screen, five go-to phrases and the scam rule on one page. Stick it by your computer.
- Practice pictures. A muted video, a printer stuck “offline” and a fake virus warning, so you can practice without waiting for something to break.
- The scam pop-up rule that could save you hundreds of dollars.
- Lifetime access. Come back to it whenever something acts up.
Inside lesson 8
“Is this pop-up real or a scam?”

Fake virus warnings with a phone number to call are one of the most common ways people lose money. In lesson 8 you practice with this fake one, show it to ChatGPT, and learn the rule that makes these easy to spot: a real warning from Microsoft, Apple, or your antivirus will never ask you to call a phone number.
When we showed ChatGPT this practice pop-up, it answered: “This is a fake tech-support scam popup, not a real Windows security warning… Do not call the phone number. Do not click anything inside the warning.” Then it explained how to close the browser safely.
Why only $27?
Less than a third of one remote fix.
When I fix a computer remotely, it’s $99. That’s a fair price for a real repair. But plenty of everyday problems are small: a muted video, a printer that says “offline,” a setting that changed by itself. You shouldn’t have to pay $99, or wait days for help, every time one of those happens.
For $27, once, you get a skill you can use next time, and the time after that. No subscription. Nothing to cancel.

A fair question
“Why would an IT guy teach me how to need him less?”
Because a lot of everyday computer problems are small ones that people can solve themselves, if someone shows them how to ask. ChatGPT can now handle a lot of those. I’d rather you have that skill.
And when something really does need a person (a dead hard drive, a business network, a job you’d rather hand over), I hope you’ll remember who taught you.
That’s the whole idea. Learn a skill that saves you time and money. Know where to turn when you want a human.
Is this for you?
This course is for you if…
- You’ve never used ChatGPT, or you tried it once and got a wall of text.
- You use a Windows or Mac computer at home or for work.
- You’re tired of waiting on someone else every time something acts up.
- You want to know a scam when you see one.
It’s not for you if…
- You already work in IT. You’ll find it too basic.
- Your computer is clicking, grinding, wet or won’t turn on at all. That needs a person. Call me.
- You’d rather someone just fix it for you. That’s fine too. See below.

Questions
Every reason you might talk yourself out of this.
I’m not good with computers. Will I keep up?
Yes. That’s who it’s for. Lesson 2 installs the app, lesson 3 has your first conversation, and nothing assumes you’re technical. The whole point is that ChatGPT goes at your speed.
I tried ChatGPT once and it was confusing.
That happens to a lot of people, and it’s why this course exists. Ask it a quick question and you get a wall of text. Lesson 4 fixes that with one sentence. Try that lesson free before you buy.
Why pay when ChatGPT is free?
Same reason people pay for driving lessons when the car is free to sit in. The course shows you the exact words, the order, and the safety habits, so it actually helps.
Do I have to pay for ChatGPT too?
No. The free ChatGPT plan covers lessons 1–6 and 8. Lesson 7, where ChatGPT clicks through settings for you, uses a newer feature that may need a paid ChatGPT plan depending on your account. It’s optional, and the course tells you before you get there.
Will ChatGPT take over my computer?
No. In lessons 1–6 and 8 it only sees what you choose to show it. Lesson 7 shows how to let it click for you with your permission. You can stop it any time, and it starts with “look, don’t touch.”
Can I use my phone?
Yes. The ChatGPT phone app works for lessons 3 to 6, and it’s great for snapping a photo of a frozen computer screen.
How long does it take?
Each lesson is short. Do one a day or all of them in an afternoon. Your lessons stay there, so you can stop and pick up where you left off.
What if ChatGPT can’t fix my problem?
Some problems need a person, like a failing hard drive or water damage. Lesson 8 shows you how to tell the difference. When you need help, call BrainRoad at (573) 687-9015.
What if I don’t like it?
Email [email protected] within 30 days and you get your money back. No explanation needed.
What happens after I click buy?
You’ll see a short order page. Then you create a login on learn.brainroad.ai (email and password, or Google or Facebook), pay $27, and your lessons open. Log in at learn.brainroad.ai any time to come back.
P.S. Not sure yet? Read lesson 4 free. It’s the magic sentence. Try it on your own computer tonight. You’ll know pretty quickly whether the other seven lessons are for you.
