Your Helper's Email and Phone

Your helper gets a real managed work mailbox, and optionally a text-only phone number. Everything it sends goes through your review first.

A Real Work Identity, With Review Built In

Your helper is not borrowing your personal contact info. After it names itself in the first conversation, it gets its own managed mailbox, and on the Pro plan you can optionally add a text-only phone number. The critical difference from a normal inbox: outgoing messages are drafted first and sent only after review. Repeatedly approved low-risk email replies can earn narrow, capped auto-approval on a specific thread, which you can pause or revoke; everything else waits for you.

The Managed Mailbox

Every named helper gets an email address like [email protected]. This is a managed agent mailbox: replies to it route back to that helper.

Where to find it: the Helper page, on the Profile tab’s identity card, with a copy button.

How it works:

  • Inbound: an email to the helper’s address is stored durably, wakes the helper if it is asleep, and becomes a draft-reply item in your Inbox. Inbound mail also mirrors into your Business Brain so the helper has the history.
  • Outbound: the helper cannot send email directly from its workspace; that is enforced at the network level, not just by policy. Approved sends go out through BrainRoad’s platform from the helper’s address, keeping the email thread intact.

One naming rule worth knowing: @mg.brainroad.com addresses are managed agent mailboxes. @brainroad.com addresses, like support inboxes, are human contact addresses; do not expect an AI workflow behind those.

The Phone Number (Optional, Pro)

An SMS number is an opt-in Pro feature, manually provisioned on request, and text-only: no voice, no call answering.

  • Inbound texts mirror into the Business Brain, so your helper has the context.
  • Outbound texts always require your approval. Text messages are never auto-approved.

If you have not enabled a number, the identity card simply shows that no phone is set up yet.

Login Codes and Service Access

If you set your helper up with accounts on outside services, it can store the credentials in its workspace, including two-factor login codes (TOTP) and GitHub access for code work. The Profile tab’s identity card shows how many login codes are configured and warns you when a stored credential is close to expiring so you can rotate it.

Privacy

  • The mailbox and any phone number are unique to your helper and your account.
  • Sends and approvals are recorded in your Work Ledger on the dashboard, so there is always a record of what went out and who approved it.
