Search
Search works at the passage level: instead of just returning a document title, it finds the specific paragraphs that match, combining exact keyword matching with meaning-based matching (so “invoice from the roofing supplier” can find a document that never uses those exact words). Results are weighted by trust, so your own uploads outrank inbound email, and newer information outranks material it supersedes.
Each result deep-links into the document viewer in the Library, highlighting the matching passage and, for paged documents like PDFs, landing on the right page. Results that come from Knowledge open the compiled page instead.
The Search view is routable at /dashboard/brain/search; it sits off the main tab bar because most day-to-day finding happens through Ask and Knowledge.
Knowledge (the compiled wiki)
Business Brain → Knowledge holds pages synthesized from your documents: a business overview, a timeline, and more. Think of it as a living summary of your Brain, compiled by background workers rather than written by hand.
Two honesty properties worth knowing:
- Every claim is cited. Knowledge citations are matched to real indexed passages in your documents, and each citation links back to the source. The system never invents a page.
- Compilation is budgeted. Compiles run within a per-account monthly budget, and each update is written atomically, so you never see a half-written page.
If your Knowledge tab is empty, it offers a Build knowledge pages button to compile on demand. Building usually takes a few minutes.
Ask
Business Brain → Ask is a plain-language question box. Ask something like “what did we quote the Hendersons?” and you get a streaming answer with an evidence panel: the cited passages the answer was built from and an honest count of what was searched.
- Answers cite only passages that actually support them; citations that do not check out are stripped rather than shown.
- Answers spend from your account’s monthly usage pool, so heavy use is bounded rather than open-ended.
Provenance everywhere
Every document in the Library shows where it came from: your upload, an inbound email or text, a connected Google source, or a note your helper wrote. Facts extracted from documents carry View source links that jump to the exact page. If an answer or a Knowledge page says something, you can always click through to the original document and check it yourself.
Other views
Off the main tab bar, a few additional views exist for occasional use:
- Entities: people, companies, and other things mentioned across your documents, with their relationships, contradictions, and the documents that mention them. Entities are read-only reference views, not CRM records: no stages, custom fields, or edits.
- Beacons: attention items the Brain surfaces, such as deadlines, contradictions, anomalies, and action items, each with a severity.
- Insights and Health: a view of your question-and-answer history, and an audit of your document collection’s condition.
