How Pricing Works
BrainRoad charges for the private Business Brain and the hosted workspace your AI helper works from: your files, notes, customer history, templates, rules, review history, and the isolated infrastructure that keeps all of it running. AI model usage is separate. BrainRoad does not mark up token costs and never touches your provider billing (see API Costs Explained).
There are exactly two plans: a free 30-day trial (Starter) and Pro. There is no permanent free tier.
Starter (30-Day Free Trial)
Starter starts automatically when you sign up. No credit card is required. It is the real hosted product, not a preview:
- Your private Business Brain: upload files, notes, and business context your helper works from
- A hosted AI helper workspace with dashboard, browser, and console access
- A named helper with its own managed agent mailbox
- The Inbox review step: customer-facing drafts wait for your approval before anything sends
- Templates and the setup wizard
- A BrainRoad-provided trial API key already configured, so model usage is covered by a small trial credit while you evaluate (details in What Happens During Your Trial)
When the 30 days end, your helper is paused until you upgrade. Your Brain, files, settings, and review history are preserved for a limited time (see the trial page for exactly what happens).
Pro
$29/month, or $288/year (which works out to $24/month, saving $60/year).
Pro keeps everything from Starter running and adds:
- Your helper workspace continues for as long as your subscription is active
- Both sister helper runtimes (OpenClaw and Hermes) stay available under one subscription
- Monthly or annual billing through Stripe
- An optional agent phone number for text messages (SMS). This is a Pro-only add-on that is manually provisioned and text-only; outbound texts go through your review step like other customer-facing messages
- If you return after a lapse, your helper resumes with the same settings, Brain, files, and review history (as long as the workspace has not been archived)
Pro does not include AI model usage. After your trial credit, you bring your own API key and the provider bills you directly, with no markup from BrainRoad.
A first-month discount may be applied automatically at checkout for monthly billing. You never need to enter a code. Annual billing already carries its own built-in discount, so the two never stack.
